Privacy notice.
We sell work that depends on handling data properly, so it would be poor form to be vague about our own. This notice says exactly what we collect, who else sees it, and how long we keep it. It is short because we collect very little.

1. Who we are
Ahead Technologies Limited (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, runs this website. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, which means we decide what is collected and why.
| Registered name | Ahead Technologies Limited |
| Company number | 17323654 |
| Registered office | Wellesley House, 204 London Road, Waterlooville, Hampshire, England, PO7 7AN |
| Data protection contact | [email protected] |
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer. We are not required to, and for an organisation of our size it would be theatre rather than protection. Data protection questions go to the address above and reach a person who can actually answer them.
2. What we collect, and when
If you just read the site
Nothing that identifies you is collected by us. This site runs no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising tags. We do not set a single cookie of our own.
We serve our fonts from this domain rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page here sends nothing to Google. You can verify that in your browser's network tab, which is the sort of claim we would rather you checked than took on trust.
Our hosting and security provider does keep standard server logs, including your IP address, for the ordinary purposes of serving the site and blocking attacks. We do not use those logs to build any profile of you.
If you use the enquiry form
The form asks for your name, email address and a short description of what you are looking for.
Worth knowing how this form actually works. It does not send anything to a server of ours. Pressing send opens your own email programme with a message already written, which you then send yourself. No database, no form-handling service, nothing stored on this website. Your details reach us the same way any other email does, and we hold them in our inbox.
If you book a call
Booking is handled by Calendly. When you open the booking window and confirm a time, Calendly collects your name, email address, your answers to any questions on the booking form, the meeting time you chose and your time zone. It also records technical information such as your IP address and sets its own cookies inside that window.
Calendly holds this on our behalf and we can see it. Their own privacy notice covers what they do with it as a company in their own right.
If you become a client
We will hold the ordinary business record: contact details, correspondence, what we agreed, invoices and payment records. Anything sensitive we encounter inside your systems during a project is governed by the contract we sign with you, not by this notice.
3. Why we are allowed to use it
UK GDPR requires a lawful basis for each use. Ours are:
- Legitimate interests for replying to an enquiry or holding a first conversation. You approached a business about work; answering you is what you wanted and is no surprise. You can object at any time and we will stop.
- Performance of a contract for everything involved in actually delivering a project for you.
- Legal obligation for keeping financial records that tax law requires us to keep.
We do not sell data, share it for anyone else's marketing, or add you to a mailing list because you once enquired.
4. Who else handles it
These suppliers process personal data on our instructions, under contracts that include the data processing terms UK GDPR requires.
| Supplier | What it does | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Calendly | Booking and scheduling | Name, email, booking answers, meeting time, IP address |
| Cloudflare | Serves and protects this website | IP address, request logs |
| SiteGround | Email and website hosting | Anything contained in emails you send us |
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to our accountant or professional advisers where necessary.
5. Where your data goes
Calendly and Cloudflare are United States companies, so some data reaches the US. Those transfers rely on the safeguards UK law recognises: standard contractual clauses together with the UK Addendum, within each supplier's data processing agreement.
Everything else stays in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries and bookings that do not become work: 24 months from our last contact, then deleted. Long enough to remember a conversation you might pick up again, short enough that we are not sitting on a pile of stale contact details.
- Client records: for the length of the engagement and 6 years afterwards, which is what HMRC requires for financial records.
- Server logs: the short rolling period our hosting and security provider operates, typically measured in days or weeks.
7. Cookies
This website sets no cookies. There is no cookie banner here because there is nothing to consent to.
The one exception is the booking window. If you open it, Calendly sets cookies needed to run the booking and to tell genuine visitors from bots. Those are Calendly's, set inside their window, and they appear only if you choose to open it. Close it without booking and you can clear them like any other cookie.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it
- restrict what we do with it while something is in dispute
- hand it over in a portable format, or send it to someone else
- stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests
Email [email protected]. It is free, and we will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so that we do not hand your details to someone else.
9. Complaining
Tell us first if you can, because most things are quicker to fix directly. But you have every right to go straight to the regulator.

10. Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle data, we will change this page and move the date at the top. There is no archive of previous versions; if you need to know what it said on a particular date, ask us.
