§ 01
Sound familiar?

Everything you need to know is in there. So is everything you don't.

If you're trying to make sense of it
Q1Is there a sea of important information you're trying to get your head around?
Q2Does it feel a bit overwhelming?
Q3Are you worried about missing or misreading something that comes back to bite you?
Q4Are you unsure which parts even apply to you?
If you're the one providing it
Q5You hold a wealth of knowledge and people need tailored advice from it.
Q6Your customers struggle with the volume and lose sight of what matters to them.
Q7You want it to feel easy, natural and personal to each of them.
Q8Getting it wrong or leaving something out has serious consequences for your business.

So much to take in. What actually applies to you?

The answer you need is usually buried in documents written for everyone. Now I know works it out from your circumstances, one step at a time, and shows you every step.

§ 02
AI alone isn't the answer

Why not just use AI? Because it can't promise it's right.

It can't vouch for itself
AI writes fluent, confident answers. You can't be sure they're true.
Not when it really matters
For eligibility, compliance, safety or money, probably right isn't good enough to rely on.
Pointing it at your documents isn't enough
Techniques like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) fetch passages that look similar to the question. They can still miss the exception, mix up versions or stitch together an answer nobody approved.
§ 03
What you get

Everything that matters to you. Nothing that doesn't.

1
Discovered and distilled
All the information that matters to you, found and drawn out of the detail, so the important parts aren't missed.
2
Natural and personal
Explore it the way you'd talk to someone who knows it inside out, tailored to you and your situation.
3
Accurate and correct
Every answer comes from knowledge an expert has approved and can be traced back to its source.
§ 04
How it works

AI reads it. An expert approves it. The rules decide.

That split is the whole idea. AI is brilliant at reading documents and explaining things in plain language. It just shouldn't be the one making the call.

Step 1
Read
We start with one trusted document. AI drafts the rules, conditions and exceptions inside it, each one linked to the passage it came from.
Step 2
Approve
Your expert accepts, edits, queries or rejects every draft rule. Nothing goes live until a qualified person has said yes.
Step 3
Guide
Each person is guided through the information in a way that suits them and their situation, covering only what applies to them.
Step 4
Explain
Every answer comes with its reason. Ask for more and you see the source, the version, the rule path and who approved it.

AI may assist. Approved knowledge holds the authority.

§ 05
Why it matters

What it changes for your organisation.

An answer you can stand behind
Not a plausible guess. Every outcome traces back to approved knowledge, so you can defend it to a customer, an auditor or a regulator.
The same answer everywhere
Website, phone line, front desk or staff intranet. One set of approved rules serves them all, so local interpretation stops creeping in.
Your experts stop being the queue
Routine questions answer themselves. Specialists spend their time on the judgement calls that genuinely need them.
Experts judge rather than transcribe
Systems like this used to mean months of experts hand-writing rules. Now AI drafts them and your expert reviews, which is why it's practical today.
It keeps paying back
Once approved, the knowledge becomes an asset you own. The next service or channel reuses it, so nobody has to interpret the same document twice.
§ 06
When the rules change

Tell the people it affects. Leave everyone else alone.

Usually a regulation changes and everybody rereads it. Now I know remembers each past case: the facts given, the rules used and the version applied. When the source changes it replays those cases against the new rules and works out exactly who is affected and how.

The usual way
£300,000
10,000 staff each spend an hour rereading the regulation, at £30 an hour fully loaded.
With Now I know
£7,500
The 10% actually affected get a fifteen-minute update covering only what changed for them.

Illustrative only, not a forecast. Swap in your own headcount, costs and the share of people affected. Avoided errors, incidents and fines are not included and are worth measuring separately.

Nothing relevant changed
It confirms the earlier answer still stands.
Wording changed
The outcome holds. It updates the explanation or sends a short notice.
A new rule applies
It uses facts it already has and tells each person what's now different.
The outcome changes
It asks only the missing question or routes the case to a person.
§ 07
Where it fits

Anywhere the rules are written down and the answers matter.

From a ten-person practice to a national service. The size changes. The problem doesn't.

For growing businesses
Client onboarding and compliance checks
Every new client goes through the same checks, done the same way, whoever is in the office. You can show exactly how each decision was reached and the owner stops being the person everyone has to ask.
Healthcare
Referral criteria and clinical pathways applied the same way on every ward, with the reasoning shown.
Public services
Grants, licensing and eligibility that are fairer to the public and lead to fewer avoidable calls.
Professional services
Tax and regulatory guidance that is repeatable, quick to apply and ready for quality review.
Financial services
Product suitability, complaints and vulnerable-customer support handled consistently and provably.
Industry & safety
Procedures and operating standards followed as written, with fewer missed exceptions.
HR & internal operations
Leave, expenses and policy questions people can answer for themselves, with an explanation they trust.
§ 08
Who's involved

Trust comes from clear responsibility, not just clever technology.

Policy owner
Decides what it's for, its scope and which sources count.
Subject expert
Checks, edits and approves every rule before it goes live.
Service owner
Shapes the user journey and when it hands over to a person.
Technology
Runs the platform, the audit trail and access controls.
Governance
Sets the risk, quality, privacy and audit requirements.
What it is
A controlled way to make the guidance you've already approved easy to use, consistent and explainable.
What it isn't
A replacement for your policy owners or professional judgement. You stay in charge of what it knows and where it's used.
§ 09
A sensible first step

Start with one document.

Prove it works before going any further. Before we start, we agree three things together.

The first use case
Stable guidance people apply again and again, with one clear journey.
The boundary
What it may decide, what it must hand to a person and how changes get approved.
What success looks like
The measures alongside, agreed up front.
What the pilot measures
1How much of the document it covers, exceptions included
2How often it agrees with your qualified reviewers
3How long the knowledge takes to prepare and approve
4Whether people find the explanations useful
5How much effort a change to the source really takes
